Our Van hire is based in Cranleigh, Surrey (GU6) - anything outside of a 15 mile radius may incur a additional fuel surcharge.

Terms and Conditions

By placing a booking with The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire, the customer is confirming that they have read, understand and agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions. Please ensure you understand them fully prior to placing a booking with The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire
 
1. Agreed Price, Deposits Cancellation & Balances:
 
a. Agreed Price: The agreed Price is the amount agreed between The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire and you the customer. Changes made after the completion of the booking will be subject to our ability to accommodate those changes and may be subject to further charges.
 
b. Deposits: All bookings made are confirmed by way of an advance deposit of not less than agreed £50, usually 50% of of total booking cost.
 
c. Cancellation: In the event of cancellation by the Customer, any deposit paid will be forfeited. In the event of cancellation by the Company any deposit will be refunded.
 
d. Balance: Balances can be settled by BACS or the remaining balance can be paid to the driver on arrival on day of hire.
 
2. Grace period:
 
The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire strives to arrive at pick up points in advance of the time agreed. However, there may be causes that may occasionally prevent us from meeting these aims, such as inclement weather, road traffic accidents, road maintenance, and adverse traffic conditions. Reasonably therefore we need to have under these circumstances to build into our schedule(s) a period of up to 30 (thirty) minutes grace. In any event a grace period is invoked, in whole or in part, the time of adjusted time will be made during or after the period of hire, schedules permitting.
 
3. Damages:
 
Damages, subsequently cost of any repairs of such damage to the vehicle hired as used by you the customer and/or your guests how so ever caused is your responsibility. This includes incitement of any third party, which results in damage to the vehicle and/or its contents.
 
4. Overtime:
 
Charges begin immediately after the scheduled finish time of your booking slot. Under this agreement the overtime rate will be charged at the hourly rate of the vehicle you have booked. Any overtime can be paid by cash at the time off rental or within 3 days from the date of the event.
 
5. Breakdowns:
 
The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire makes every effort to maintain its vehicles as often and as thoroughly as it possibly can, The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire has therefore made all reasonable efforts to ensure that the vehicle(s) is/are in the best and most reliable condition and thereby fit for the purpose of use. In such event that a mechanical breakdown should occur outside its control The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire cannot therefore be responsible for mechanically breakdown nor the impact that those unforeseen events might then or thereafter have.
 
In the event of a breakdown or accident to the vehicle prior to the date of the booking, we endeavour to contact you immediately to offer an alternative or a refund.
 
6. Lost Property:
 
The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire takes every care to keep you the customer and any of your guest’s property safe. We cannot, however, under any circumstances take responsibility for the property lost or left or assumed left at any time in the vehicle. Please ensure that you and your guests check and remove all personal property form the vehicle whenever you are dropped off, including interim drops. In the event any property is found by us and is returned to the depot it is the responsibility of you the customer to recover property from our depot and any of doing so will be yours and yours alone.
 
7. Complaints:
 
Any complaints the customer may have about the service provided, should be made by email to delboy@theonlyfoolsandhorsesvanhire.co.uk within 7 days of the booking. All complaints will be dealt with in a timely and fair manner in conjunction with your statutory rights.
 
8. General Terms:
 
All our vehicles are strictly NON SMOKING: Nor do The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire permit the taking of illegal drugs whilst in the vehicle: failure to abide by this condition will result in immediate termination of the hire without compensation.
 
The consumption of food and drink is NOT permitted inside the vehicle.
 
The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire does not accept any responsibility for adverse conditions which may cause delay or cancellation of a booking. The Customer and The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire are responsible to comply with all details on the Booking Form.
 
The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire or its representative (e.g. driver) reserves the right to refuse entry to the vehicle to any persons they deem unfit for what so ever reason. The Only Fools and Horses Van Hire can refuse to continue the journey if any person behave in a manner which may be detrimental to other persons or to the vehicle and its contents. In this event NO refund or part refund will be given.
